Simon Jordan believes ‘brilliant’ Tottenham star couldn’t get into top Premier League side – Gary Neville certainly disagrees

Tottenham had a number of standout performers in their 4-0 hammering of Manchester City.

James Maddison’s ‘outrageous’ performance caught the headlines, meanwhile, Radu Dragusin and Ben Davies earned praise from Ange Postecoglou for their defensive display.

In attack, Gary Neville said Dejan Kulusevski was ‘brilliant’ on the right-hand flank, after watching the Swede grab the assist for Maddison’s opener.

The 24-year-old’s antics at the Etihad have garnered a lot of praise, particularly from Neville, who also claimed Kulusevski could play for Real Madrid, after suggesting performances like that would attract interest from Europe’s elite.

Simon Jordan however thinks otherwise, claiming the Spurs man is not at that level.

Simon Jordan believes Dejan Kulusevski could not get into top Premier League side

After struggling at points last campaign, Glenn Hoddle believes Kulusevski has ‘come alive’ this season.

Whether it be scoring goals, providing assists, or his busting runs from midfield – the Swede has played a key role in the wins over Manchester United, Aston Villa, and most recently Manchester City.

Despite this, however, Simon Jordan believes Kulusevski could not get into any of the top sides in the Premier League – telling TalkSport:

“I think Tottenham are a good side with good players, but I think a lot of these players Tottenham sign – I look at it and say they’ve gotten better and he’s (Postecoglou) getting the best of them.

“I don’t look at Brennan Johnson with due respect to the fact he’s scoring a few goals. I don’t look at Timo Werner, and I don’t look at Kulusevski, even though he’s playing very well, as players who would get into any of the top sides in the Premier League, that have won leagues and competing to win the leagues.”

Dejan Kulusevski’s stats prove Simon Jordan wrong

If Jordan were to take a closer look at Kukusevski’s insane stats this season, the TalkSport pundit may change his mind.

Kulusevski is the Premier League’s best presser so far this season, whilst also leading the league for the most amount of key passes.

With 12 goal contributions already this season for club and country, the Swede is already one away from equalling his tally from last campaign (13).

Whether it be in midfield or on the right-hand flank, the 24-year-old’s importance to Tottenham at the moment is unprecedented – so much so Spurs fans have suggested Kulusevski should be given the captaincy once Heung-min Son eventually departs.
