Tottenham Hotspur will be eager to get back to winning ways now the November international break has finally finished.

With no international breaks until March, it’s full speed ahead for Spurs in the Premier League, the Europa League, the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup.

Tottenham’s main priority now is to ensure they can finally maintain some consistency, as they know they have what it takes to beat anyone on their days.

The Spurs squad has been a fairly mixed bag in terms of individual efforts and quality this season, with a few players giving great accounts of themselves.

Glenn Hoddle has now named who he thinks has been Tottenham’s best player so far this season and explained why he rates him so highly.

Glenn Hoddle says Dejan Kulusevski has been Tottenham’s best player this season ‘by a mile’

The player in question is Dejan Kulusevski, who has been a revelation for Spurs since switching from the wings to midfield.

For instance, Kulusevski is joint top in the Premier League in terms of chances created, sharing a tally of 30 with Fulham’s Andreas Pereira.

The Sweden international has chipped in with two goals and two assists from 11 Premier League outings, along with three goals in two Carabao Cup games.

Hoddle, speaking on talkSPORT on Wednesday, said he believes Kulusevski has played a big role in the drop in minutes for teammate James Maddison.

“Kulusevski had a chance when Maddison was injured to play in that number 10 role,” said Hoddle.

“And he’s done such a positive amount of work in there with the ball and without the ball. He really has.

“He’s come alive. If you said to me, who’s the best player at Tottenham this year so far? Kulusevski by a mile. He really has been good in that position.

“He loves playing in that position. I think he had a couple of games or a little bit of a spell at Juventus there. But, you know, he does great on the wing.

“But since he’s been in there, and I think there’s certain games he’s played the pair of them in there, but since he’s put (Pape Matar) Sarr in there, a bit of energy, particularly in the second half.

“That’s the midfield that he wants the balance for… I think it’s Kulusevski that’s the real reason why he hasn’t been able to put (Maddison) in.”

Kulusevski a revelation for Tottenham

While playing on the right wing, Kulusevski became quite predictable at times, especially when cutting inside onto his favoured left foot.

However, the Tottenham star now has the freedom to make things happen, and as well as winning possession in the final third, he has also been creating a lot of chances and dictating proceedings.

While it’s a shame to see Maddison get less game time, considering his quality, the current setup seems to work better for Tottenham with regards to their midfield and front line.
