How Tottenham could lineup against West Ham amid Heung-min Son injury concern

Tottenham return to action this weekend, as they face off against London rivals West Ham United.

Still ruing from their collapse against Brighton, Ange Postecoglou and the Tottenham coaching staff have had almost two weeks to digest that shambolic second-half performance at the Amex.

Postecoglou labelled the Brighton defeat the worst he has suffered as Spurs boss, with James Maddison even apologising to Tottenham supporters via social media.

Second-half collapses aside, Spurs have been in impressive form lately – winning five on the bounce before their dismal trip to the South Coast.

With that being said, Tottenham will be desperate to get back to winning ways against West Ham this Saturday but as every Spurs fan knows, London derbies are never a walk in the park.

The Lilywhites picked a measly one point against the Irons last season, suggesting Postecoglou’s side are in for a tough task – a task they may have to overcome without their talisman Heung-min Son.

Ange Postecoglou faces Heung-min Son injury decision

Son picked up a hamstring injury against Qarabag in late September and is yet to feature since.

The South Korean missed Tottenham’s trips to Manchester United and Ferencvaros, whilst also failing to feature in the Brighton defeat.

Son teased Spurs fans with a potential return over the weekend and the 32-year-old is expected to return to training sometime this week – according to Football.London.

Despite Son’s teased return on social media, it would ultimately be a surprise to see Postecoglou throw the Spurs skipper straight back in following his injury – especially against West Ham, which is always a feisty affair.

Brennan Johnson’s recent Spurs revival means he will likely retain his spot on the right wing, having recently added to his goal tally while away on international duty with Wales.

Tottenham fans called for Postecoglou to start Radu Dragusin in the wake of the defensive collapse against Brighton and the Romanian international could potentially replace Cristian Romero, whose constant errors are leaving a stain on the Spurs backline.

In midfield, Tottenham could be hampered by the absence of Lucas Bergvall after the youngster recently withdrew from the Sweden squad with injury – per The Standard.
