Heung-min Son drops hint that he could return from injury for Tottenham vs West Ham

Heung-min Son has confirmed that he is close to making his return from a hamstring injury which has kept him out of Tottenham Hotspur’s last few matches.

Son suffered the injury in the Europa League almost two weeks ago and his absence from the team has been huge for Spurs.

Despite their emphatic win over Manchester United without him, Ange Postecoglou’s team have certainly missed him and could have done with him against Brighton.

Ahead of the return of club football following the latest international break, Tottenham look set for some great injury news before they take on West Ham.

Son drops injury return hint ahead of West Ham

Son has dropped a hint on Instagram that he is close to making his return from injury and it could come against West Ham. The 32-year-old posted a picture with the caption ‘back soon’ which follows reports that Son is due back in training this week and in contention for the London derby.

His return from injury would be a huge boost for Postecoglou who has also been without Wilson Odobert and Richarlison as left winger options. Timo Werner has been the player who has replaced Sonny for the last three matches although the German’s performances have been pretty underwhelming.

The North London club will now be hopeful of having their captain back for the clash against the Hammers in a game which has quickly become a must-win. Spurs have made their worst start to a Premier League campaign since 2007 and things need to change quickly.

How could Tottenham line up vs West Ham United?

Richarlison is also expected to return to training this week to hand Tottenham’s squad a major boost ahead of a busy run of games. The Brazilian has been missing for the last eight games with a knock but has returned to training outside and is now close to making his long-awaited return.

Postecoglou could also make changes in defence which may involve Dragusin coming in for Romero and Djed Spence replacing Destiny Udogie. Udogie’s fitness has looked off recently and he looks in need of a rest. However, these changes seem unlikely at this stage and Son for Werner is the only expected alteration from the defeat to Brighton.

Tottenham’s predicted line-up vs West Ham: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Bentancur, Maddison, Kulusevski; Johnson, Son, Solanke.
