Spurs return to Premier League action this weekend, as they play host to top-four rivals Aston Villa.

Tottenham got back to winning ways against Man City in the Carabao Cup, after a disappointing defeat at Selhurst Park last weekend.

Guglielmo Vicario claimed Spurs lacked ‘fight’ against Crystal Palace but Tottenham’s fighting spirit would ultimately return midweek as they overcame Pep Guardiola’s side.

Ange Postecoglou’s men will once again have to be resolute this weekend as they face off against Unai Emery’s Aston Villa – a side five points ahead of them in the Premier League table.

Having ran out 4-0 winners last time against Villa, Spurs will fancy their chances despite their inconsistencies so far this season.

Team/injury news

Micky van de Ven’s hamstring injury means he will likely miss Sunday’s clash, with Postecoglou likely to start Radu Dragusin against Aston Villa in his absence.

Tottenham will also be without Wilson Odobert who recently suffered a ‘serious’ injury setback.

There is some good news for Spurs supporters though with Heung-min Son likely to feature at some point, whether that be starting or the bench. Son was rested against Crystal Palace and Man City which suggests Tottenham were perhaps saving their skipper for the Villa game.

Unai Emery also has some injury concerns of his own with the likes of Amadou Onana and Ezri Konsa picking up knocks in recent weeks.
