Heung-min Son missed Tottenham Hotspur’s defeat to Crystal Palace as injury troubles continue to hamper his campaign.

Tottenham limped to a 1-0 defeat against a struggling Palace side as Ange Postecoglou’s men suffered yet another defeat on their travels. Spurs have now lost nine out of their 27 matches away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium under the Australian manager.

Postecoglou’s in-game management against the Eagles was criticised as he made a triple substitution taking off Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison which seemingly killed off any hope. Meanwhile, Guglielmo Vicario admitted that Palace showed a much greater desire to secure three points than Tottenham which will only further ring alarm bells for supporters.

Ahead of a busy run of fixtures, Tottenham have now been told when they can expect their captain back from injury and how bad his latest setback is.

Heung-min Son rested vs Crystal Palace

Son could have played against Crystal Palace, however, the North London club opted to rest him as a precaution, according to Paul O’Keefe.

Resting such an important player like the 32-year-old was obviously a big gamble for Spurs and whilst it didn’t pay off, it’s better to have been without him for just one than if he suffered a relapse and missed the next 10 matches.

Tottenham have some tricky games coming up including two against Manchester City in the league and Carabao Cup, Aston Villa at home and Galatasaray away in the Europa League.

Having the South Korean back and fully fit for that run of games will be very important and they will certainly need their main man for most of those fixtures.

How could Tottenham line up vs Manchester City?

Son will hopefully be fully fit for Tottenham’s massive Carabao Cup tie against Manchester City on October 30.

The winger has a great record against the Premier League champions having won nine of his 19 meetings against them and scoring on nine occasions in those clashes.

Postecoglou is expected to keep a strong team for the game with the likes of Vicario, Micky van de Ven, Pedro Porro, Dejan Kulusevski, Brennan Johnson and Dominic Solanke all set to remain in the team.

Tottenham’s predicted line up vs Manchester City: Vicario; Spence, Van de Ven, Dragusin, Porro; Bentancur, Sarr, Kulusevski; Son, Johnson, Solanke.
