After Radu Dragusin, Tottenham ready to compete with Bayern Munich again to sign ‘incredible’ winger

Tottenham Hotspur supporters don’t have to look too far back for the last time Spurs beat Bayern Munich to a signing. 

Radu Dragusin completed a switch to Hotspur Way in January but the Romanian’s move proved to be an eventful one. 

There was real belief at Bayern that they would pip Spurs to Dragusin’s signature, only for the centre-back to opt for a move to link up with Ange Postecoglou instead.

It’s not often you see Spurs go head-to-head with other top clubs for signings, with chairman Daniel Levy often reluctant to get involved in bidding wars.

But the Lilywhites could find themselves in another transfer battle with Bayern this summer, only this time for the signing of Stade Rennais forward Desire Doue.

Tottenham ready to enter Desire Doue race

According to L’Equipe, Bayern are the first club to launch an official offer for Rennes starlet Doue. 

The offer, worth around £30 million, was knocked back by the Ligue 1 club. Yet, Bayern aren’t the only side keen to snap up the winger.

Indeed, Paris Saint-Germain, Tottenham and Chelsea are all ready to go on the ‘offensive’ to land the youngster.

It’s claimed that the above clubs are the ‘most advanced’ when it comes to their interest in Doue this summer.

Doue or Eberechi Eze?

It’s no secret that Spurs are long-term admirers of Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze. The England star has been labelled a ‘priority’ for Tottenham this summer but they may face a decision should they step up interest in Doue. 

Like Eze, the French youngster can operate in an advanced midfield role, as well as off the left-hand side. 

While Doue played his best football as a winger last season, he would offer Postecoglou a similar profile to that of Eze.

At 19, the ‘incredible’ Doue arguably has a higher ceiling than Eze. But the Palace star would be ready to make an instant impact due to his considerable experience in the Premier League.
