Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly weighing up a move for a new left-back to compete with Destiny Udogie for a place in Ange Postecoglou’s side.

Spurs boast a fairly settled back four heading into the 2024/25 season after impressive campaigns for Destiny Udogie, Pedro Porro, Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero last time out.

Radu Dragusin also arrived in January and has strengthened Ange Postecoglou’s options in central defence, with Van de Ven evening moving out to left-back in Udogie’s absence last term.

But Tottenham will be well aware of the need to add depth at full-back this summer, particularly with Emerson Royal likely to head out the door this summer.

While the Brazilian leaves plenty to be desired when it comes to his ability to play Postecoglou’s system, his versatility proved more than useful last term. Royal operated across the back four and filled in for Tottenham’s key defensive stars on multiple occasions.

The full-back has returned to training at Hotspur Way but Royal has reportedly agreed to a switch to AC Milan. And the Lilywhites are eyeing a move for a talented young left-back as they search for added defensive depth.

Tottenham interested in Bradley Locko

Paul O’Keefe took to X on Saturday and shared an update on Spurs’ search for a new left-back.

The Spurs insider claims that Stade Brestois youngster Bradley Locko features on Tottenham’s list of targets.

While a move for the 22-year-old is not ‘advanced’, there is interest from Spurs and Locko is under consideration.

He wrote: “Spurs considering Bradley Locko as a potential left back option. Nothing advanced but player is of interest.”

Locko named in Ligue 1 Team of the Season

Locko has enjoyed quite the year in France after leaving Stade Reims last summer.

The left-back racked up 33 appearances in Ligue 1 for Stade Brestois, registering three assists in the process.

His impressive displays led to him being named in the Team of the Season, as well as earning a debut for France’s Under-23s side back in March.
