Bayern Munich are reportedly ‘very confident’ over hijacking Tottenham Hotspur’s move for Radu Dragusin.

That’s according to Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, who has shared an update on Radu Dragusin’s future.

Tottenham seemed to be on the verge of finally landing a new centre-back for Ange Postecoglou on Tuesday morning.

Spurs had reached a ‘full agreement’ with Genoa to sign Dragusin for a fee worth around £21 million plus add-ons.

It was even claimed that Djed Spence could head the other way on loan as part of the deal.

But Bayern launched a late bid to sign the Romanian defender on Tuesday evening, with the player set to make a decision over his future today.

And Plettenberg claims that Bayern bosses are confident Dragusin will reject Tottenham in favour of a move to Germany.

Plettenberg took to X on Tuesday morning and shared some extra details regarding Bayern’s move for Dragusin.

The journalist claims the Bundesliga giants have had an offer worth around £26.2 million accepted by Genoa.

He wrote: “Bayern bosses, very confident to hijack Dragusin deal as they expect the player to join Bayern now. Decision between Tottenham/Bayern today!

“Freund and Tuchel want him – now!”

Postecoglou has made no secret about his desire to bring in a new centre-back swiftly this month.

But as things stand, Spurs are at risk of missing out on their top defensive target in Dragusin.

Tottenham had been locked in talks with Genoa for over a week and have dragged their heels over the fee for the defender.

Many Spurs fans have already voiced their frustrations at the club’s approach in the transfer market and it could cost them when it comes to Dragusin.

Missing out on the 21-year-old would be a huge blow to Tottenham and force them back to the drawing board in their search for a new centre-back.

With Ben Davies and Cristian Romero sidelined, it feels vital that Spurs bring in reinforcements in the position as soon as possible.

Nevertheless, Dragusin is yet to make an official decision and Spurs will undoubtedly be hopeful he opts for a move to England over Germany.
