Tottenham sacked Frank on Wednesday morning following an 11th Premier League defeat of the season against Newcastle United.

The defeat leaves the team sitting 16th in the Premier League table and just five points above the bottom three after just two wins in 17.

Pochettino has been linked with a return to Tottenham, and now the 54-year-old is being targeted again by the North London club.

Tim Sherwood is certain Pochettino will become the next Tottenham manager next summer after the World Cup.

“In the summer, it’s going to be Pochettino, it will be almost impossible for Tottenham to look beyond Mauricio Pochettino with the clamour from the Tottenham support to bring him back,” he told Sky Sports.

However, that will leave Spurs with the issue of finding a coach who would be willing to take the job on an interim basis until the end of the season.

Sherwood added: “So whoever goes in there is just going in for 12 games, plus that Champions League run, there’s no future at the club for the person.”
