Tottenham’s League Cup journey begins with a trip to Coventry City.
Still ruing from their derby day loss, Tottenham now have to turn their attention to the cup as they face off against Mark Robins’ Coventry in the third round of the Carabao Cup.
Sat 13th after four games, Spurs have started the 2024/25 season in polar opposite fashion to last campaign.
With that being said, Ange Postecoglou will be keen to get some positivity back into the Tottenham camp and move onto the fourth round of the cup.
Postecoglou was bullish about Tottenham’s silverware hopes and will see the Carabao Cup as an ample opportunity to open his trophy account in North London.

The Aussie boss won’t want a repeat of last year’s third-round tie, which saw them knocked out by Fulham on penalties, and will likely put out a strong team against The Sky Blues.
One of the Tottenham manager’s biggest decisions ahead of the game is what to do with James Maddison, following the midfielder’s disappointing display in the North London derby.

Will James Maddison start v Coventry in the Carabao Cup?
Maddison was once again ineffective against Arsenal on the weekend, with the 27-year-old earning himself a lot of criticism following his derby display.
The former Leicester man failed to provide Spurs with the spark needed and was hooked by Postecoglou on the 80-minute-mark, a substitution that has become a regular occurrence in recent times.
With both Archie Gray and Lucas Begrvall on the bench, it begs the question of how long the £40m man can keep his starting slot.
Postecoglou is likely to make a number of changes against Coventry, it would be no surprise to see Maddison drop to the bench and be replaced by one of his younger counterparts.
Tottenham predicted XI vs Coventry
Postecoglou will likely change up his front three on Wednesday evening, with the likes of Wilson Odobert and Timo Werner likely to return to the starting XI.
Brennan Johnson deactivated his Instagram account following the Arsenal clash, after receiving online abuse for his performance – it would not be a surprise to see Postecoglou remove the Welshman from the limelight for the time being.
Tottenham’s backline could also see either Cristian Romero or Micky van de Ven be replaced by Radu Dragusin after he impressed against Newcastle earlier this month.
