Tottenham kick off their Carabao Cup campaign with a trip to Coventry City.
Fresh from their disappointing derby display against Arsenal, Tottenham now turn their attention to the Carabao Cup.
Having crashed out at this stage last year to Fulham, Ange Postecoglou will want no repeat of that this time around as Spurs go in search of their first trophy since 2008.
Postecoglou was bullish about Tottenham’s trophy hopes this season, following his side’s 1-0 defeat in the North London derby and the Aussie boss will see the Carabao Cup as the ideal opportunity to get his hands on some silverware.
To do so, however, the Lilywhites must overcome Mark Robins’ Coventry, who of course are no stranger to providing cup upsets having nearly knocked out Manchester United in last season’s FA Cup semi-final.

Coventry v Tottenham kick-off time
Tottenham’s clash with Coventry is scheduled for an 8:00pm BST kick-off on Wednesday 18 September, 2024.

Team news
Having disappointed in both domestic cup competitions last season, it would be no surprise to see Postecoglou pick a strong XI against Coventry, in an attempt to avoid a potential cup upset.
Richarlison missed the North London derby with injury and will likely not be fit enough for the Coventry clash.
Tottenham could also be without Yves Bissouma, who picked a knock last week while on international duty with Mali.
Coventry meanwhile have injury concerns of their own, with Ben Sheaf and Tatsuhiro Sakamoto doubts ahead of the game.
