Tottenham Hotspur were defeated 1-0 in the North London derby leaving fans fuming at their team’s performance against Arsenal.
Gabriel Magalhaes’ header in the second half proved decisive in the derby as the Gunners recorded a third straight win at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Supporters’ frustration towards Ange Postecoglou and the team is starting to grow with this being their worst start to a Premier League campaign in nine years.
However, some fans have gone way too far in voicing their frustration and have forced one of Spurs’ players to delete their social media account.

Brennan Johnson deactivates Instagram account
Brennan Johnson was forced to deactivate his Instagram account following fan abuse after the North London derby defeat.
It’s very disappointing to see that the 23-year-old felt he was getting so much abuse from supporters that he needed to remove himself from social media.
No performance should leave players open to such abuse that they feel they must take their social media accounts down and fans need to do so much better.
Footballers are not exempt from criticism but there is a way to go about it constructively and forcing him off social media is simply unacceptable.
Johnson was poor vs Arsenal but should not be scapegoated
The Welsh international was pretty underwhelming against the Gunners as Spurs lacked much threat down the right-hand side. However, not many of the players wearing white could be proud of their performance in the North London derby.
Once again scapegoating Johnson is unfair, it solves nothing and only further harms a player whose confidence is already low. As mentioned, footballers must be open to criticism but doing it in a constructive manner is the only way to go about it.
The winger has shown flashes of brilliance during his time in N17 but right now his confidence looks to be at an all-time low and now is the moment for fans to support him.
