Tottenham face another transfer blow after Savinho with one more target possibly set to stay at club

Tottenham Hotspur are keen on a couple of attackers, including Manchester City star Savinho.

However, the Brazilian is set to sign a new contract at the Etihad, so Savinho joining Spurs in January now looks highly unlikely.

Tottenham bolstered their forward line in the summer after recruiting Mohammed Kudus and Xavi Simons, but they still appear to be in the market for another offensive player.

As well as Savinho, Spurs are also thought to be interested in Borussia Dortmund’s Julian Brandt.

Julian Brandt could remain at Borussia Dortmund despite Tottenham interest

With Brandt’s contract running down, Tottenham seem keen on taking advantage of the situation.

It was recently reported that Tottenham are lining up a move for Brandt as they look to add another attacker to Thomas Frank’s squad.

However, according to Bild, the German could yet remain at Dortmund, with the club’s manager Niko Kovac making it his mission to turn his current crop of players into “top performers”.

It would be a disappointing development for Frank, especially with Savinho no longer on the table.

Of course, the Dane still has the likes of Simons and Kudus, though he thinks the former can be a bit more consistent.

While it is still early days in his Tottenham career, when Frank discussed Simons’ performance against Wolverhampton Wanderers over the weekend, he was not afraid to say that his big signing lacked sharpness at times.

Why Julian Brandt has the potential to be one of the signings of 2026

If Brandt does end up joining Simons and Kudus at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next year, the Premier League could be looking at one of the deals of the summer.

Brandt’s contract expires next June, so Spurs may be able to get him on a free transfer if he does not sign a new deal.

Brandt is a 29-year-old Germany international with 48 caps to his name. He has a lot of experience at the top level and is a very versatile attacker, capable of playing on both wings and behind the striker.

In his senior career, the former Bayer Leverkusen star has scored 89 goals and provided 120 assists in 487 games, according to Transfermarkt. If Tottenham can get all of that for free, it would be great business.
