Bayern Munich have switched their focus back to Eric Dier after missing out on Radu Dragusin to Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham appear to have beaten Bayern to the signing of Radu Dragusin after the Bundesliga giants attempted to hijack the move on Tuesday.
The 21-year-old has ultimately decided to join Spurs after both clubs had bids accepted by Genoa for the defender, with Djed Spence going the other way on loan.
It comes after Bayern were confident Dragusin would reject Tottenham in favour of a move to Munich.
The Bundesliga champions will now be forced to go back to the drawing board in their attempt to land a new centre-back.
And Florian Plettenberg claims their sporting director, Christoph Freund, wants to wrap up a deal to sign Eric Dier.

Bayern switch focus to Dier after Dragusin blow
Plettenberg took to X on Wednesday morning and claimed that Bayern wants to finalise a deal for Dier after missing out on Dragusin.
He also states that Bayern have already agreed terms with Dier on an 18-month deal, with an option to extend by a further year.
The German giants would pay Tottenham a fee worth around £3.4 million.
This would represent an excellent turn of events for Spurs should Dier head to Munich and Dragusin completes his move to north London as expected.

The 29-year-old is out of favour under Ange Postecoglou at the moment, having made just four appearances in the league all season.
Despite the fact that Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero have been absent for large spells, Postecoglou has often preferred a make-shift defensive duo of Emerson Royal and Ben Davies.
Dier has been a ‘brilliant’ servant for Tottenham over the years but it feels like the right time for the Englishman to move on.
With his contract expiring this summer, it would also be a bonus if Spurs do manage to pick up a small fee for the defender.
