Tottenham Hotspur defender Djed Spence could join Genoa on loan as part of the deal to sign Radu Dragusin.
That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims that Genoa are prepared to accept Tottenham’s latest offer for Dragusin, which will include Spence joining the Serie A outfit.
Spurs are finally closing in on landing Ange Postecoglou’s top centre-back target this month.
After nine days of negotiations with Genoa, Florian Plettenberg claimed on Tuesday morning that Spurs have reached a ‘full agreement’ to sign Dragusin.
But it would appear that there is more to the deal than just a straight-up transfer as Romano claims Spence is set to head the other way.

Spence could join Genoa as part of Dragusin deal
Romano took to X on Tuesday morning and claimed that Spurs are willing to send Spence to Genoa on loan in an attempt to wrap up a deal for Dragusin.
He wrote: “Genoa are now prepared to accept Djed Spence as part of Radu Dragusin deal (with €25m fixed fee and €5m add-ons).
“It would be loan move until the end of the season. Negotiations continue today in order to get Dragusin deal done with Spence included.”
Spence recently returned from Leeds United after having his season-long loan cut short.
The full-back was snapped up for £20 million in the summer of 2022 but is yet to start a single game for Spurs.
It’s fair to say that the 23-year-old’s move to North London hasn’t quite worked out so far and it’s clear he doesn’t feature in Postecoglou’s plans.
Offloading Spence as part of a deal to sign Dragusin would kill two birds with one stone from Tottenham’s point of view.

Postecoglou has been open about his desire to snap up a new centre-back and Spence was expected to leave after returning ahead of schedule from Leeds.
Bringing in Dragusin this week would be a huge boost for the Aussie too. Cristian Romero and Ben Davies are currently sidelined with hamstring injuries.
Micky van de Ven returned to the squad in the FA Cup third-round win over Burnley on Friday. But that still leaves Postecoglou short in central defence.
It remains to be seen whether or not Spurs will wrap up a deal for Dragusin in time for the 21-year-old to feature against Manchester United on Sunday.
But the latest updates on the signing are positive and Spurs will surely be working to make that a possibility.
