Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou is set to be handed a huge injury boost, with a return date ‘mapped out’ for one of his big money summer signings in £50 million man Brennan Johnson.

According to the Evening Standard, winger Johnson is hoping for a return to the side following the upcoming international break.

The Wales international limped off during the North London Derby with a hamstring injury, which caused him to miss last Saturday’s 2-1 win over Liverpool.

He is also set to miss out on Spurs’ away game at Luton Town this Saturday, and he has also not been called up to the Wales squad for the upcoming international break.

However, Johnson is targeting a comeback for the first game back after the international break on October 23rd against Fulham.

Having Johnson back would be a massive boost for Postecoglou, with the Australian limited in his selection going forward, with fellow summer signing Manor Solomon also reportedly injured, who is set to be out for 3-4 months with issues to his groin and meniscus.

Tottenham have been great going forward so far this season, scoring 17 goals in their opening seven Premier League games. Six of those have come from star man Son Heung-min, who has scored six already.

The attacking three behind Son in Richarlison, James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski, with them also scoring five between them.

Johnson was brought in from Nottingham Forest to add some much needed depth in the forward positions, with Johnson being able to play on either wing and as a striker.

Solomon was also brought in on a free transfer after spending last season at Fulham, but with the Israeli set to be out until the new year, Johnson’s recovery is of paramount importance.

Spurs have also been linked with bringing in Jota, formerly of Celtic where we worked under Postecoglou, to the club to add more depth after injury worries.
