Tottenham striker Son Heung-min was substituted off in the entertaining 2-1 Premier League win over Liverpool at the weekend and Ange Postecoglou has provided an update on the attacker ahead of their next game vs Luton.
The win for Tottenham now sees the club sit in second place and they are only one point behind Manchester City in first. Club captain Son Heung-min‘s substitution in the 69th minute vs Liverpool, led to questions over his match fitness.
Speaking after the win against Liverpool about Son, Ange Postecoglou said, via Football.London: “Look, he wasn’t 100% but I had a chat with him yesterday and he was desperate to play. He was going to give what he could and he did.
“He was never going to play the whole 90, we were always going to give him an hour or so but he led from the front again and he was the one doing the pressing. He got his goal as well so great captain’s effort.”

Tottenham captain Son Heung-min should be available to play against Luton
The quotes from Spurs manager Postecoglou are somewhat positive despite highlighting the fact that Son definitely has some minor injury struggles right now.
With him not being 100% against Liverpool but managing to score a goal and play the way that he did, it feels like he should be available to play Luton.
Although Spurs would have wanted to be competing in Europe this season, the fact they aren’t will massively benefit Son as he tries to get back to being fully fit.
His game time can be managed better and he can be rested over the week instead of having to play three times in seven days.

Spurs will want to make sure they put on a good performance against relegation-battling Luton. The away match will not be easy for the North London club and momentum is high for Luton following their first win of the season last weekend.
Son will be key to their success this season and if he continues thriving in the striker role then there is no doubt that Tottenham will finish high in the Premier League this campaign.
