Tottenham Hotspur have started making their transfer plans for the upcoming windows as they look to bolster Ange Postecoglou’s squad.
The Australian coach’s team is still in need of clear reinforcements as despite a summer of big spending, Dominic Solanke is the only player to have made an immediate impact at the club.
An underwhelming window has seen them make a slow start to the Premier League having suffered four defeats from their first nine matches.
Spurs have already made a key decision over one of their main targets and are looking at him as a potential long-term successor to Yves Bissouma.

Tottenham expected to take up option on Johnny Cardoso
Real Betis are convinced that Tottenham will take up their option to sign Johnny Cardoso before July 2025, according to ABC Sevilla.
Spurs have the chance to sign Cardoso for £21 million next summer having secured the right as part of the deal which saw Giovani Lo Celso return to La Liga.
Cardoso won the Man of the Match award against Atletico Madrid and has started to really impress for Betis after fully recovering from a knee issue.
The North London club need an elite number six and the 23-year-old is starting to look like the real deal who could be the player to replace Bissouma.
How Micky van de Ven’s injury could change Tottenham’s January transfer plans
Micky van de Ven suffered a bad-looking hamstring injury against Manchester City and he looks set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
The 23-year-old suffered the injury after making a challenge and was replaced with Destiny Udogie after just 14 minutes.
Now, Spurs may need to accelerate plans to sign a left-sided defender, with Postecgolou being left short of deputies for both Van de Ven and Udogie.
The Italian has now featured in all but one of Tottenham’s games this season and he will desperately need a rest at some stage, but that looks tricky with no cover.
