Johnny Cardoso was given Man of the Match for his performance against Atletico Madrid as he helped Real Betis secure a 1-0 win.

Tottenham have first refusal on Cardoso for a fee of £21 million as part of the agreement which saw Giovani Lo Celso return to La Liga for just £6.7 million.

The United States international put together a superb display in central midfield as provided a presence in both defensive and attacking phases.

The 23-year-old has been struggling with a knee injury this season but he is finally starting to overcome that issue and against Atletico showed the levels he can reach.

Fans were in awe of his display against Diego Simeone’s team and took to social media to express their admiration for the midfielder.

Cardoso’s stats show just what a well-rounded performance the midfielder produced against Atletico Madrid.

He seemed to be everywhere as Betis clinched a massive three points to climb into 5th place and just two points off the Champions League spots.
