Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank has been speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of Spurs’ London derby against West Ham United this weekend.

Frank’s record against West Ham is superb, and many Tottenham supporters will be expecting it to become even better on Saturday.

The Dane discussed several topics in his presser, including whether new signings Xavi Simons and Randal Kolo Muani would be available for selection.

Both players joined Spurs at the end of the last transfer window, with Kolo Muani arriving on deadline day.

Xavi Simons and Randal Kolo Muani in contention to feature for Tottenham against West Ham

Frank could be about to delight any Tottenham supporters who are hoping to see Simons and Kolo Muani play against West Ham.

Their names came up in the 51-year-old’s press conference, and he confirmed both men were in contention to feature at the London Stadium this Saturday.

Speaking to football.london and other outlets, Frank said: “Both are looking good. Both are in contention to be ready for the squad tomorrow. Xavi for the natural reasons is further down the line. He started for the Netherlands the other day. Randal hasn’t played for a while, last time was the Club World Cup.”

Kolo Muani was not the only Paris Saint-Germain player Tottenham were interested in over the summer.

It has been claimed that Spurs also enquired about signing Senny Mayulu, but PSG had no interest in selling the talented midfielder.

Should Thomas Frank unleash both Xavi Simons and Randal Kolo Muani against West Ham?

It is a London derby that Spurs are going into, a London derby against one of their fiercest rivals. Frank’s men will be away from home as well.

When you consider the above, it may be wise to bring Simons and Kolo Muani on and ease them into things.

Of course, being new signings, Tottenham supporters will be eager to watch Simons, who joined from RB Leipzig in a £51m deal last month, and Kolo Muani from the start.

Simons could be set for a free role at Spurs after one coach was heard giving him the instruction: “Go create, do whatever you want,” during a training session.

As for Kolo Muani, he will be expected to lead the line for the team, meaning that he will be competing with Dominic Solanke and Richarlison for a spot in Frank’s side.
