Xavi Simons set for free role at Tottenham after interesting instruction given to him during training

Tottenham fans are very excited to see what is to come from new signing Xavi Simons ahead of his debut for the club.

Spurs spent bring money to bring in the Dutchman from under the noses of local rivals, Chelsea, and unveiled him ahead of their last Premier League game against Bournemouth.

Simons has frequently provided goals and assists during his time as a regular at RB Leipzig, and that creativity was missing in their 1-0 defeat last time out.

After travelling to represent the Netherlands during the international break, Spurs’ newest attacker is now in training with his new side, as he prepares for a debut against arch-rivals West Ham.

Xavi Simons told to ‘do whatever you want’ in Tottenham training

Simons seems delighted to be in training with Spurs, and footage has emerged from his first few sessions at his new club.

The 22-year-old looks sharp on the ball, however one instruction from coach Matt Wells seems to have given an indicator into the kind of role he will have in the Spurs side.

He was heard shouting: “Go create, do whatever you want.”

The Spurs News have predicted that Simons will start in the number 10 role, flanked by Mohammed Kudus and Brennan Johnson, with Richarlison up front.

While Spurs fans will be expecting nothing but a win against the Hammers, it will be interesting to see the vibe of the travelling support after the big recent news at the club.

Simons potential debut overshadowed by Daniel Levy’s departure

The club looks set to undergo big changes in the coming months following the surprising exit of Daniel Levy from his role as chairman.

Simon Jordan has tipped Spurs to be taken over following the news, and supporters will no doubt be excited that this could be the start of a new era of big spending in North London.

However, Spurs CEO Vinai Venkatesham has warned of the reality of the financial rules, meaning they will need to continue to make money in order to spend it.

The excitement is high over big-money signing Simons, however the away end is likely to be filled with supporters dreaming of this being a more frequent thing in the coming years.
