Fresh off the back of a 2-1 loss against Premier League new-boys Ipswich Town, the feeling around Tottenham is pretty glum at the moment, to say the least.
Spurs went into the game against the Tractor Boys with the opportunity to leapfrog rivals Arsenal and Chelsea, they now however sit way down in 10th place.

Ange Postecoglou took responsibility for the Ipswich loss – a defeat that leaves the Lilywhites with a disappointing record of just five wins from eleven games so far.
It is not all doom and gloom for Tottenham however with only three points separating them and third-placed Chelsea – suggesting Spurs fans have reason to be optimistic.
When it comes to the long-term future of Spurs under Postecoglou, supporters have another reason to be hopeful when comparing the Aussie’s record to other successful managers.

Ange Postecoglou could equal Jurgen Klopp and Mikel Arteta win record
To say Tottenham’s progress under Postecoglou has been a bit of a rollercoaster would be an understatement.
It is ultimately been a lack of consistency that has plagued Postecoglou’s spell as Spurs boss so far, with Ian Wright recently criticising Tottenham’s inconsistency in the wake of the Ipswich defeat.
If previous seasons are to tell us anything though, is that success takes time, and if you look at the Aussie’s first 49 games in charge of Spurs – it suggests he could recreate some of the success seen at other clubs like Liverpool and Arsenal.
If Tottenham were to somehow pull off an unlikely victory away at Manchester City on November 23, it would mean that Postecoglou would equal the win records of both Jurgen Klopp and Mikel Arteta after 50 games.
With Liverpool having won numerous titles under Klopp and Arsenal seemingly close to one under Arteta, Postecoglou will no doubt hope to replicate their success at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
How does Postecoglou compare to previous Tottenham managers?
When it comes to analysing Postecoglou’s record as Tottenham boss, it is also worth taking a look at how other previous Spurs managers fared during their first 50 games in charge.
| Premier League record | Ange Postecoglou | Jose Mourinho | Antonio Conte |
| Games | 49 | 50 | 50 |
| Wins | 25 | 23 | 29 |
| Win rate % | 51.02% | 46% | 58% |
The stats above show that context is key when comparing managers. Despite Antonio Conte having the best win record by far, things would get toxic under the Italian during the later stages of his north London stay.
Spurs are undoubtedly in a much better place under Postecoglou compared to the turmoil-filled spells of Conte and Jose Mourinho – which suggests fans should potentially be more optimistic when it comes to Tottenham’s future under the Aussie.
