Tottenham’s Premier League campaign has been plagued by inconsistency so far this season.

After dismantling the champions in their backyard last weekend, Spurs have since followed that up with two disappointing draws against Roma and Fulham.

Having already beaten the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United this season, many fans have been left questioning why Spurs cannot replicate those performances against the so-called ‘weaker’ teams.

That question however could have just been answered by a Tottenham journalist.

Journalist highlights Tottenham’s inexperience against Fulham

Having a young squad is a big plus for any manager, but it also brings its downsides.

Alan Hansen rather famously claimed, “You don’t win anything with kids” – a quote that resonates with this current Spurs squad.

Tottenham’s matchday squad against Fulham contained a number of youngsters on the bench and Athletic journalist Jack Pitt-Brooke has shone a light on Tottenham’s inexperienced substitutes.

With only two substitutes having previously started a Premier League match, is this perceived lack of experience affecting Spurs?

Ian Wright has criticised Tottenham’s lack of consistency and this could potentially be down to a lack of maturity within the Spurs squad.

The recent departures of Eric Dier and Hugo Lloris have seen the average of the Spurs roster massively decrease recently – with Ange Postecoglou currently possessing the fourth youngest squad in the Premier League.

Alan Shearer has claimed Spurs need to be more consistent and this problem could potentially fixed by signing some more experienced stars.
