Tottenham have a number of talented stars in their squad, with a host of players worth an absolute fortune.
Spurs are not in the market to sell any more players this month after Thomas Frank let Brennan Johnson join Crystal Palace at the start of January.
Simon Jordan is not a pundit who is ever shy in saying what he thinks, and with the speculation surrounding Micky van de Ven, he’s been voicing his opinion again.
It’s believed that Van de Ven is going nowhere any time soon, with Tottenham actually valuing him at around the £125 million mark, should any club wish to purchase him.
Liverpool do like Van de Ven, and intriguingly, if he went there, he could prove to be the heir to the throne currently occupied by his international teammate, Virgil van Dijk.

The central defender is one of the quickest players in the Premier League and losing him would make him very hard to replace in the Tottenham team.
Given the uncertainties over Van de Ven, Jordan has now given his verdict on what the Dutchman is worth in today’s market and he thinks Tottenham should use a Chelsea star as a barometer.
He said on TalkSPORT: “£80m is my first reaction to Micky van de Ven when building up to the expectation Spurs would have. 80-odd, that might be what they’re really looking at. Asking for £100m gets you to £80m.
“If you’re buying Wesley Fofana for £70m, Micky van de Ven is a far better player than Wesley Fofana, so in that world, Van de Ven becomes an £80m footballer.”
Tottenham must convince Micky van de Ven to sign a new deal
Losing Van de Ven before he reaches his peak would just make a mockery of the recruitment at Tottenham and frankly, the club must do whatever it takes to keep him.
If that means sacking Thomas Frank, then it would probably be for the best if that’s the decision they took, if it kept Van de Ven happy enough to stick around.

Van de Ven is a top defender and if Tottenham are to truly go where the fan base wants them to go, keeping players of his ilk has to become the norm.
It would send out a bad message if Tottenham started offloading players like Van de Ven and although he has a contract until 2029, Spurs must start to look at extending his deal and preserving his valuation.
