Tottenham are preparing to face Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League later tonight.

It’s been claimed that Tottenham are going to sack Thomas Frank regardless of the outcome of tonight’s game following a poor run of form.

The club are 14th in the Premier League, and when it comes to the domestic form, Frank hasn’t really kicked Tottenham on from the Ange Postecoglou era.

Naturally, fans will want to win tonight and boost the hopes of qualifying for the Champions League knockout stages, but what comes after might be more exciting for the supporters.

What senior players think about Thomas Frank at Tottenham

Given all of the news that is coming out about Frank, it seems destined that the Danish head coach is going to depart – and that might please the senior players at the club.

According to TalkSPORT’s Transfer Insiders, Alex Crook explained: “The mood between Thomas Frank and the fans was already very toxic. I would say it’s completely broken now after what happened over the weekend.

“And toxic is the word that’s been described to me, or used to describe the feeling inside the dressing room as well.

“There is more than one senior player who has serious reservations about the direction the club is going in under Frank and his style of play. I think that will have got back to the hierarchy.”

When this sort of thing is doing the rounds, it would seem as though the manager is destined to fall and now it does feel a case of when and not if Frank leaves Tottenham.

Tottenham have to make decisive decision on Frank

With these reports, there is no smoke without fire and it’s doing nobody any favours that Frank is still at the football club if it’s to be believed that some directors aren’t convinced.

As a result, Tottenham have to either come out and back Frank after tonight’s game with Dortmund or sack him prior to the trip to Burnley on Saturday.

Frank is a good head coach, but for whatever reason, his methods just haven’t convinced the Tottenham players, with the senior players particularly sceptical, it would seem.

It would appear that the problems run far deeper at Tottenham than any manager and it will be fascinating to see what decision is made next by the club.
