Tottenham Hotspur have finally decided to part with Thomas Frank after another defeat.

Spurs were beaten 2-1 by Newcastle United at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with Eddie Howe praising Frank after watching his side claim a big win.

Tottenham have parted with Frank after a run of two wins in 17 matches, and ultimately, that was never likely to be good enough for a club of this size.

Sum up Thomas Frank’s time at Tottenham in three words

Although the Champions League form was pretty good, the bread and butter of the Premier League has suffered, with Spurs just five points clear of the relegation zone.

Frank hasn’t been helped by a number of factors, including injuries, and now Chris Sutton believes that one pundit has really let the head coach down.

Chris Sutton critical of one Tottenham player

Football pundit Sutton has come out in defence of Frank and thinks one Tottenham player should probably hang his head in shame after letting his manager down.

Frank was sacked after just eight months in charge at Tottenham, and given the work he was allowed to do over a number of years at Brentford, that will come as a blow.

Cristian Romero was the team’s captain under Frank and Sutton believes he’s badly let down the now departed Tottenham head coach.

He said on X: “Romero stupidly getting sent off when his manager really needed him sums up why it wasn’t meant to be for Thomas Frank at Spurs. I feel really sorry for him. The problems at Spurs run far deeper. Nobody knows what Spurs identity is anymore…”

Tottenham need unity in their new manager

The one thing that Tottenham have to start getting right is the desire to play for the club and that is injected into the squad from the head coach.

Tottenham perhaps need a short-term passion merchant to come in and ensure that the club are able to revive their season with just a third of it remaining.

Fill in the blank: Roberto De Zerbi would be a ____________ appointment for Tottenham…

👀 Would De Zerbi be better than Mauricio Pochettino?

A number of names have been linked with the vacancy this morning and it’s imperative that Tottenham get the next appointment just right.

Romero has been very vocal over club affairs in recent months and now it will be interesting to see if he thanks Frank for anything on his social platforms in the coming days.
