After a recent upturn in form, Tottenham travel to Ferencvaros in good shape to make it back-to-back Europa League wins.
Spurs beat Manchester United in a 3-0 rout on Sunday, with goals from Brennan Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke highlighting their current attacking prowess.
Ange Postecoglou’s side’s next Premier League assignment will be a trip to Brighton, but attention now turns to Spurs’ trip to Hungary.
Tottenham overcame Qarabag in their opening Europa League fixture, meaning that another victory will leave them in a strong position for qualification to the next round.
Johnson and Solanke were again on target in the 3-0 victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but an injury to Son Heung-min in the second half left Spurs fans concerned at the final whistle.
The Tottenham captain did not feature in the victory against United, fueling worried speculation as to the severity of his injury. Postecoglou’s update on his star man’s fitness ahead of their European clash has done little to dispel this worry.
Son Heung-min will miss Tottenham’s clash with Ferencvaros

Speaking to SPURSPLAY, Postecoglou was asked about the fitness of Son, as well as fullback Destiny Udogie.
He said: “Sonny and Destiny are back in London. They’re working away, but they’re not available for this one. Everyone else from the weekend got through the game and is good to go.”
After Postecoglou had remained coy about Son’s fitness after the United win, there was hope that he may be able to feature in the Europa League.
However, the South Korean remaining at Hotspur Way will only worry Spurs fans as to when exactly they will see their star man return to the pitch.
Whether Son will be fit for Tottenham’s trip to Brighton remains to be seen. If he is to miss out, he will have an international break to regain his fitness in time for the visit of West Ham.
Tottenham’s surprising record without Son Heung-min
Alongside Harry Kane, Son has been Tottenham’s key attacking threat since his arrival in 2015. Therefore, his absence should lead to difficulties, but Spurs actually perform reasonably well without their South Korean star.
Son missed three league games for Spurs last season after being called up to represent his country in the Asian Cup.
Spurs were unbeaten in the three matches, including a home victory against Brentford and two respectable away draws against Manchester United and Everton.
Even more surprising was their goal-scoring output over this period. Spurs scored seven goals in the three matches, showing that they can still function as an attacking threat without Son.
After scoring three against United without their captain on Sunday, Spurs fans will hope that this is an indication that last season’s impressive performances without Son were not a fluke if they are to be without him this season.
