Ange Postecoglou spoke about Heung-min Son’s injury which kept him out of Tottenham Hotspur’s 3-0 win over Manchester United.

The South Korean missed Spurs’ emphatic victory at Old Trafford due to a hamstring injury he picked up during their Europa League win over Qarabag.

Meanwhile, his teammates ran riot in the Manchester rain as goals from Brennan Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke secured a statement win.

Micky van de Ven’s assist for Johnson’s opening goal stole the headlines as the Dutch defender intercepted a loose pass in his own half, he then galavanted through the entire United team to tee up the Welshman at the back post.

The Lilywhites managed to produce such a win even without their captain, although they will still be keen to have him back as soon as possible.

Ange Postecoglou’s Heung-min Son injury update

Ange Postecoglou has revealed that Tottenham are currently unsure when Heung-min Son will be able to return from his hamstring injury.

The forward suffered the issue on September 26 and could not recover in time for the trip to the Theatre of Dreams.

Timo Werner started in his place and whilst the German did some nice work, he missed several chances you would have expected the Tottenham captain to have put away.

Speaking in his press conference after United, Postecoglou said: “We’ll see. Obviously, it was a quick turnaround today, so we’ll assess it when we go back and get back down to London. We’ll see how he is.”

Despite their comprehensive win, Werner showed the importance of Sonny, as he spurned multiple opportunities to put Spurs out of sight. The 32-year-old hasn’t had the easiest start to the season, however, he would have had a field day at Old Trafford.

Wilson Odobert also being sidelined with a hamstring injury doesn’t help either, as the Frenchman would have been the ideal replacement for the captain.

Tottenham travel away to Hungary this week to face Ferencvarosi in the Europa League and then are away at Brighton in their next Premier League match.
