Tottenham Hotspur have lost Wilson Odobert for a considerable amount of time after the winger suffered a hamstring injury against Coventry.

Odobert was forced off after just 18 minutes due to injury and looked in a fair amount of pain holding the back of his leg. His absence will be a big blow for Ange Postecoglou as Spurs have games have plenty of games coming up and he will need all his squad available.

The Australian coach still has plenty of winger options in Brennan Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski, Heung-min Son, Timo Werner and Mikey Moore, but he will still be disappointed to have lost Odobert for a fair amount of time.

Wilson Odobert sidelined until the end of October

Tottenham’s doctors estimate that Odobert will be sidelined for around a month with a hamstring injury, according to L’Equipe.

The Frenchman underwent scans on Thursday and he will need to undergo further tests once the swelling has gone down. But initial medical reports indicate that Postecoglou will hope to have the winger back by the second half of October.

He is now expected to miss games against Qarabag, Manchester United, Ferencvaros, Brighton & Hove Albion and potentially West Ham United.

The 19-year-old had made a strong start to life in North London as despite being quite a raw talent, he has shown many promising attributes.

Mikey Moore must take Odobert’s place

Werner is more than likely to be the man to replace Odobert, however, Postecoglou should trust Moore as the player to replace the Frenchman.

The 17-year-old showed more than enough promise in pre-season for the Spurs boss to hand him plenty of minutes over the coming weeks.

The Spurs academy gem has already proved he is ready for senior football when he embarrassed Bristol Rovers in the EFL Trophy. Moore netted twice and got an assist against the League One side.
