Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has now called up an exciting 16-year-old to training.

After stringing together a number of positive results, Tottenham‘s defeat on the weekend will have been a real blow to their Champions League hopes.

Beating Aston Villa back in March looked like a statement made from Spurs but Ange Postecoglou‘s side have struggled to capitalise on all of Villa’s recent shortcomings.

Now, Unai Emery’s side pulled off an impressive victory over Arsenal which saw them return to fourth spot.

A number of Tottenham’s players have to look at themselves now and demand more with individuals like Yves Bissouma coming under fire in recent weeks.

But now it seems Postecoglou is looking to enlist the help of one of the club’s academy stars with one 16-year-old now training at Hotspur Way with the first team.

There have been a number of outstanding performers in Tottenham’s youth sides this season and they have been rewarded with training with the first team.

But there has now been a seriously exciting and extremely young player who has now been handed the chance to train under Postecoglou.

Ange Postecoglou has now called up seriously exciting Spurs talent to training

There have not been a huge deal of opportunities handed out to the Tottenham youth players this season by Postecoglou.

Wayne Burnett’s U21s are flying in the Premier League 2 as they now sit top of the league two two games in hand.

However, there has only been very limited cameo appearances handed out to one of their shining stars in Jamie Donley.

This comes despite the poor run of form James Maddison finds himself in at the moment as he really struggles to return to his best after injury.

Now it seems as if the 58-year-old is looking to involve some more of his options from the club’s youth system with 16-year-old Mikey Moore one of the standout stars.

The youngster has played a big role in Tottenham’s U18s side this season and was unavailable to play for them last night after training with the first team, according to Lilywhite Rose.

Who is Mikey Moore?

Dubbed as one of the exciting youngsters emerging from the Spurs academy, his performance in the Premier League Cup final was labelled as the moment ‘the secret was out’ at Hotspur Way by The Guardian.

At just 16-years-old, the versatile forward has been playing in the U18s side where he has excelled this season.

“Everyone’s aware I think that he’s a really exciting prospect with good potential,” his coach Stuart Lewis said about him earlier this season.

“I thought his work epitomised us really in our play and his off-the-ball work and how he pressed and got after the ball.

Moore has also picked up a number of England youth caps where he has returned six goals in eight games for the U17s squad.
