Tottenham Hotspur youngster Alfie Dorrington has admitted there is one player in the first-team who is “really aggressive” in training.

The 18-year-old has now been called up the Ange Postecoglou’s side a number of times and frequently trains with them at Hotspur Way.

Although he is yet to work his way into the side and pick up his debut in the Premier League, the defender has admitted he’s noticed a big difference in training with the first-team.

And Dorrington has revealed the one player who he finds incredibly tough to train against.

What Alfie Dorrington said about Radu Dragusin

The centre-back is just one of the exciting young talents which Tottenham have developing at Hotspur Way.

He was called up to Postecoglou’s squad for a long stretch of games over the winter when Cristian Romero was suspended and Micky van de Ven was injured.

Although he was unable to make an appearance from the bench, the 18-year-old continues to train reguarly with the Spurs first team.

After bringing in a number of new signings since Postecoglou arrived, Dorrington has revealed it is the January addition, Radu Dragusin, who he has been impressed with in training.

Speaking on Spurs Play, he said: “I think Micky, he’s so quick. Obviously, I heard about him before he came and when he in his first session I tried knocking the ball around him just to test myself against his pace. But obviously, I couldn’t beat him.

“But Cuti, really physical just like he is in a game. They’re all like what they are in a game. Radu, really aggressive. Ben [Davies], really aggressive. I think because he took me under his wing, I probably pay most attention to him.”

What Postecoglou has now said about Dragusin ahead of Luton

Spurs return to Premier League action today with a game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium against Luton Town.

And it will provide Postecoglou with a really interesting choice of whether to stick with Dragusin or bring back Van de Ven.

The Dutchman was declared fit by the Australian on Friday in his pre-match press conference from the training facility.

He said: “In terms of injuries. Micky has trained. he’s trained the last couple of days. He feels good so he will be available.”

However, there has to be questions whether returning him straight back to the XI would be a wise move when his hamstrings have caused him issues this season.

Although it was not the first start he will have wanted, Dragusin did play against Fulham and could provide Spurs with adequate cover for Van de Ven.

Spurs now have a serious schedule of games coming up over the next week with West Ham to play on Tuesday night and then Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

With this in mind, surely there will be no real rush to bring Van de Ven straight back into the XI with a London Derby to consider on Tuesday night.

But Dragusn is certainly doing everything he can to impress Postecoglou behind the scenes with his extreme regime back at Hotspur Way.
