Wilson Odobert’s three months at Tottenham Hotspur have been a bit of a disaster with the winger having struggled with a hamstring injury for most of it.

Ange Postecoglou confirmed Odobert had suffered a major setback in his recovery from the issue and is set for a long spell on the sidelines.

The teenager was forced off against Coventry City in the EFL Cup with a hamstring injury back in September and he has not made an appearance since.

Odobert has now dropped another update on his recovery which spells bad news for Spurs who could now be without him for quite some time.

Wilson Odobert undergoes surgery

Odobert has confirmed on his Instagram that he has undergone surgery on his right hamstring and this is likely to keep him out of action for several weeks.

The 19-year-old has made just five appearances for the Lilywhites since joining from Burnley over the summer, although he did look to be working his way into Postecoglou’s lineup.

Tottenham can’t afford many more injuries ahead of a busy run of games in which they will play nine times in the space of just 29 days, starting with Manchester City on November 23.

Odobert’s injury has been compounded by the injury struggles of Heung-min Son and Richarlison leaving Spurs’ left-wing options quite short.

How bad are Tottenham’s current injuries?

Tottenham are currently without six players who are sidelined with either injuries or illness. Van de Ven is expected back soon after the international break.

Richarlison is set for an extended spell on the sidelines having also suffered a hamstring injury, like Odobert. Cristian Romero has returned early to Hotspur Way with a foot injury.

Mikey Moore and Timo Werner are both expected to be fit to face Manchester City on 23 November with the former having missed Galatasaray and Ipswich with a virus.

Meanwhile, Rodrigo Bentancur is facing a suspension with the FA expected to hit him with a seven-match ban for his comments towards Heung-min Son.
