Ange Postecoglou is set to lose one of his key players for quite a while with Rodrigo Bentancur expecting a hefty ban from the FA.
Last summer, Bentancur made inappropriate comments towards Heung-min Son as he spoke about his South Korean heritage on Uruguayan television.
The FA charged him for the incident two months ago and he is now expected to banned for several matches just the wrong moment for Postecoglou’s team.
Spurs face a hectic schedule after the international break as they face the prospect of playing nine matches in the space of just 29 days.

Rodrigo Bentancur expecting lengthy ban
Bentancur has revealed that his agent has informed him that he is set for a lengthy ban although Tottenham and the FA are yet to provide him with an official update.
The 27-year-old is expected to be banned for seven matches by the English Football Association which will see him miss games against Manchester City, Fulham, Bournemouth, Chelsea, Southampton, Man United and Liverpool.
Bentancur told DIRECTV Sports: “My representative told me that they had notified that that was the sanction. So far, the club has not communicated.
Sadly I already knew where the hand was going, now the sanction came out. My priority is to be here with the national team and then we’ll see when I go there.”
Should Bissouma or Gray replace Bentancur?
Now is the time for Archie Gray to be given his first Premier League start with Yves Bissouma failing to convince with his performances this season.
The 18-year-old has done a great job filling in it at full-back when called upon by Postecoglou and he deserves to be rewarded with a midfielder spot.
Comparing both players is tricky as the sample size for both is only small and Gray has almost exclusively featured only in the Europa League and at full-back, however, he still outperforms Bissouma in most areas.
| Stat | Gray | Bissouma |
| Minutes | 360 | 400 |
| Tackles | 1.8 | 1.5 |
| Interceptions | 0.3 | 0.6 |
| Fouls | 0.5 | 0.5 |
| Clerances | 1.8 | 1.5 |
| Blocks | 0.8 | 0.1 |
| Key passes | 1 | 0.4 |
| Average passes | 39.5 | 35 |
| Pass completion% | 84.8 | 91.4 |
Gray was signed for a hefty fee of £40 million from Leeds United over the summer and Postecoglou needs to start treating him a bit more seriously than just sticking him at full-back.
