Tottenham Hotspur have had a busy summer transfer window so far with five new players arriving at the club.

The headline signing has been Dominic Solanke who joined Spurs in a club-record deal from AFC Bournemouth.

Tottenham also added Archie Gray to their squad from Leeds United whilst Lucas Bergvall arrived in North London after agreeing to join them back in January.

Teenage wingers Wilson Odobert and Yang Min-hyeok were also brought in as the club looked to add to their youthful core of players.

Tottenham had been looking to sign a goalkeeper and a midfielder next, however, Bergvall and Gray’s performances have seen the Lilywhites reassess their need to add to the middle of the park.

Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray change Tottenham’s plans to sign a midfielder

Tottenham’s priority to sign another midfielder in the final week of the transfer has now changed, according to The Athletic.

Bergvall and Gray have impressed so much in training that the North London club are now no longer desperate to add reinforcement in the middle of the park.

The duo started on the bench against Leicester and both came on around the 80th minute mark at the King Power Stadium.

Bergvall looked particularly impressive against Leicester whilst Gray also did a good job clearing up in the number six role.

Spurs has been looking to bring in another all-action midfielder with the likes of Jacob Ramsey and Conor Gallagher being targeted.

But for now, that is no longer a pressing issue and Ange Postecoglou is set to stick with his current midfield options until at least January.

Are Tottenham right not to sign another midfielder?

There is no doubt that Tottenham are well stocked in midfield and just adding another option for the sake of it would not have been a sensible move.

Along with Gray and Bergvall, Spurs also have James Maddison, Pape Matar Sarr, Yves Bissouma and Rodrigo Bentancur.

Signing a new number six appeared to be the priority following the departures of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Oliver Skipp. Although, Bentancur did a good job in that role covering for Bissouma’s suspension against Leicester.

If Johan Lange and his recruitment team cannot find the right player for now then holding off on signing a midfield until the next window seems the best option.
