Tottenham Hotspur’s season got off to a miserable start as they were held to a 1-1 draw with Leicester City.
Spurs dominated the majority of the match only for their lack of cutting edge to cost them two points against the Foxes.
Ange Postecoglou’s side had 15 attempts and 71 per cent possession but failed to make Steve Cooper’s side pay.
37-year-old Jamie Vardy was allowed the freedom of the back post to head home from close range and cancel out Pedro Porro’s opener.
The result showed just how much work the North London club still have to do under Postecoglou if they hope to make the top four.
There is still a chance for them to dip into the transfer window and with less than two weeks remaining, the Lilywhites have identified a new area of the squad they are looking to strengthen.

Tottenham looking to sign a goalkeeper
Tottenham are looking to sign a new goalkeeper in the final fortnight of the transfer window, according to Paul O’Keefe.
They want a back-up for first-choice Guglielmo Vicario with Fraser Forster the club’s current number two.
One player Spurs had been eyeing is Fiorentina’s Tommaso Martinelli, but he is just an option along with others.
Martinelli is still only 18 years old and has made just one appearance at senior level, therefore, a move for him at this stage wouldn’t make a great deal of sense.
They could certainly do with another goalkeeper option as an injury to Vicario would leave them in a precarious position.
Tottenham still need three more signings
Following the signing of another goalkeeper, Postecoglou would still need to add two more positions to his Tottenham squad.
Firstly, a new midfielder is required as they look to add some more steel to the middle of the park and someone who can keep them ticking.
Ideally, that would be a player with some experience at the top level, with Spurs having become too obsessed with signing players for the future.
Four of their last five additions have all been teenagers and the club now need to look at players who are ready to make an immediate impact.
A left-sided defender is also needed as cover for Destiny Udogie and Micky van de Ven.
