Tottenham Hotspur’s season started in frustrating fashion as they were held to a 1-1 draw away at Leicester City.
Spurs created a hatful of opportunities, however, a lack of cutting-edge in the final third saw them drop two points at the King Power Stadium.
Ange Postecoglou’s side looked like they would run away with the game in the first half as they found the breakthrough in the 30th minute via Pedro Porro.
The away side continued to carve out chances but when it came to the decisive moment, they failed to make the Foxes pay.
Eventually, Tottenham were punished as Jamie Vardy headed home at the back post following some questionable marking from the visitor’s back line.
The North London club were left to rue their missed chances as the game finished all square, leaving plenty of work for Postecoglou still to do.
However, Tottenham fans did pinpoint one positive from the match, with one of the club’s youngsters producing a notable display in the Midlands.

Tottenham fans call for Lucas Bergvall to start against Leicester
Spurs supporters have called for Lucas Bergvall to start against Everton as the Swede impressed on his Premier League debut.
The 18-year-old replaced Pape Matar Sarr with 25 minutes remaining and he made a swift impression.
After the game, the club’s fans took to X to call for their summer arrival to line up against the Toffees in their second game of the season.
A second adds: “Bergvall more than earned a start against Everton on Saturday.”
There were yet more calls for him to start, with another fan adding: “Bergvall is the key to this system and season, the exact midfielder Ange needs.”
“Hopefully he starts against Everton and beyond. He’s not a stranger to giving young players a chance if they’re good enough so I’ve no doubt he (Postecoglou) pulls this lever sooner rather than later.”
Predicted Tottenham changes against Everton
Postecoglou must look to change up his team against Everton following a dismal opening-day display.
Firstly, Brennan Johnson is likely to lose his place with either Dejan Kulusevski or new signing Wilson Odobert replacing him.
Porro is now an injury concern as he was forced off with an ankle issue and replaced by Djed Spence.
But the midfield is where the biggest changes could come with 18-year-old duo Archie Gray and Bergvall coming into the line-up.
Gray also impressed on his debut for the North Londoners as he produced a decent cameo off the bench, whilst James Maddison looked back to his best in the first half.
Tottenham predicted line-up vs Everton (4-3-3): Vicario; Spence, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Gray, Maddison, Bergvall; Kulusevski, Solanke, Son
