Van Hecke played for Brighton under De Zerbi, and it’s believed that the club’s first bid has been considered some way short of the value placed on him by the Seagulls.
It’s believed that Brighton want £70 million for Van Hecke, but with a single year to run on his existing deal, that does feel a little bit ambitious.
The 25-year-old has made 131 appearances for the Seagulls, and across 40 outings in 2025/26, he helped Brighton qualify for the UEFA Conference League.
