Tottenham Hotspur still hold an interest in Antonio Nusa ahead of the summer despite the forward’s decision to join Brentford in January.

Ange Postecoglou’s side were believed to be interested in the Norwegian last month, but it was said he made the decision to join Thomas Frank’s side.

However, after a move to west London broke down, it seems Spurs could still offer Antonio Nusa a landing spot in the summer.

Tottenham still interested in Nusa

According to journalist Alasdair Gold, the Lilywhites still hold an interest in the 18-year-old winger ahead of the summer.

The report claims Spurs were unable to offer Nusa the same guarantees as Brentford did last month given he was stil such a young player.

But a move to Brentford broke down due to an issue discovered in his medical, he has since had the issue clarified by the Norwegian national team.

With the strategy at Hotspur Way to invest in young players, a move for Nusa is still believed to be on the cards.

Investing in youth

There is a lot of optimism surrounding some of the young players currently in the Spurs academy.

Will Lankshear and Jamie Donley are both players who have impressed massively this term and did so in north London on the weekend.

Nusa has been described by the Arsenal midfielder Martin Odegaard as an ‘incredibly exciting‘ player to come out of Norway.

Given Spurs were unable to offer him the guarantees Brentford were in the summer, it has to be questioned where he would fit in to this current squad.

Would the potential arrival of Nusa set the likes of Donley further back in the pecking order at Hotspur Way?

The 19-year-old has already made a handful of appearances under Postecoglou this season, but the arrival of a £25m player would surely take priority.

Spurs have already seen one failed youngster go on to look like a really promising player in Jack Clarke, they will have to be careful not to repeat this with their current crop.
