Tottenham Hotspur’s Japhet Tanganga has secured a loan move to Championship club Millwall.

The English defender was on loan at Augsburg in the Bundesliga but had a simply disastrous spell in Germany.

He played 0 minutes for his new club after an injury and a very unfortunate manager sacking.

The 24-year-old was subsequently called back by Tottenham Hotspur so he could be sent out on loan to find much-needed game time. Let’s hope he’ll find it at The Den.

Tottenham confirm Japhet Tanganga loan

Tottenham confirmed via their club website that Tanganga would be departing on loan on Thursday afternoon. The statement read:

‘Japhet Tanganga has joined Championship side Millwall on loan for the remainder of the season. The defender, 24, spent the first half of the campaign on loan at Bundesliga side FC Augsburg.’

Short and sweet. Fans were all saying the same thing after the news broke.

Japhet Tanganga was meant to be the ‘next big thing’

Tottenham fans flooded X with messages, shocked at the fall from grace Tanganga has had over the past couple of years.

‘What happened man he’s gone from a masterclass against Man City to QPR away,’ a first states.

A second adds: ‘I don’t really get how this happens… I swear he was highly rated not too long ago.’

‘What happened to this guy was meant he our next big thing,’ a third adds.

‘I think this could be a good move for him, should get some good game time now. I’d forgotten about him,’ another adds.

A final put it perfectly: ‘What the hell happened to this guy???’

Well, sadly a combination of injuries and lack of game time have severely hurt Tanganga’s career so far. Hopefully, this is where he gets it back on track.
