Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a potential summer swoop for one of Barcelona’s young prospects.

The Lilywhites have already won the race against Barcelona to sign the exciting Swedish talent Lucas Bergvall this season.

Now it seems Ange Postecoglou’s side are coming for some of Barcelona’s own players.

Tottenham keen on Mika Faye

According to Sport, Spurs are now showing a real interest in the centre-back Mika Faye who is viewed as one of their ‘greatest assets’.

Barcelona are expected to have offers landing at their door over the coming months for the 19-year-old defender.

Alongside Spurs, Girona, Nice and Lens are said to be showing an interest in the Senegalese youngster.

Having signed a contract with a €400m (£342m) release clause, Barcelona are now thought to be weighing up whether to sell him with a buy-back option.

Tottenham also eyeing another Barcelona star

The Spurs News has been told the club are looking to bring in a new central defender in the summer.

And this was supported by the recent comments made by Postecoglou in Friday’s press conference before the Fulham game.

But Faye may not be the only Barcelona youngster who Spurs look to prise away from Spain in the summer.

According to reports, the Lilywhites are also keen on signing the 18-year-old midfielder Dani Rodriguez.

And the player’s agent has recently been spotted meeting with the Barcelona president following these reports of Tottenham’s interest.

Going back to defenders, Tottenham have strong options at the back with Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero and Radu Dragusin to choose from.

However, with European football likely to be returning to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next season, more strength in depth is needed.

Faye has been included in Xavi’s match day squad for Barcelona just once this season and has not featured in the first team at all.

So a move to Spurs would certainly provide him with a big challenge considering he is yet to be exposed to any top flight football.
