Genoa centre-back Radu Dragusin reportedly favours a move to the Premier League, with Tottenham Hotspur locked in talks to sign him.

Spurs have been heavily linked with a move for Radu Dragusin as Ange Postecoglou ramps up his search for a new centre-back.

Tottenham are already closing in on a deal to sign Timo Werner on loan in what has come as a surprise move early in the transfer window.

But they were widely expected to snap up a centre-back first and it seems Postecoglou is close to getting his man in Dragusin.

Indeed, it was reported last week that Spurs have already agreed terms with the Genoa defender ahead of a possible January switch.

And despite interest from Serie A champions Napoli, it seems that Dragusin prefers a switch to Tottenham.

Football.London reports that Tottenham are continuing talks over the signing of Dragusin, despite interest from Napoli.

It’s noted that the Italian giants have offered a cash-plus player deal in an attempt to snap up the 21-year-old.

Yet, Dragusin prefers a move to England and is willing to turn down other clubs to secure a move to the Premier League.

Dragusin has been ever-present for Genoa this term, racking up a total of 19 Serie A appearances.

The Romania international is reportedly valued at around £30 million but Spurs will undoubtedly be keen to secure a deal at a cheaper price.

That would explain why talks have stretched into this week, with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy known to drive a hard bargain.

It feels vital that Tottenham snap up a centre-back sooner rather than later, particularly with Cristian Romero sidelined.

Micky van de Ven has returned from injury but that has coincided with Ben Davies picking up a hamstring injury in the 1-0 win over Burnley on Friday.
