Tottenham Hotspur have agreed personal terms with Serie A and Genoa centre-back, Radu Dragusin.

Ange Postecoglou is desperate for a centre-half in this January transfer window. Amid a sea of injuries, the Aussie manager has been forced into fielding Ben Davies and Emerson Royal as a centre-half pairing. Not ideal.

That’s why January couldn’t come soon enough for Postecoglou and his coaching staff. The funds are there to go out and pick up someone to compete for the starting XI at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tottenham agree personal terms with Radu Dragusin

Fabrizio Romano took to X today to state that Tottenham Hotspur have agreed to personal terms with Radu Dragusin. He wrote:

‘Understand Tottenham have agreed personal terms with Radu Dragusin on a long-term contract. Negotiations ongoing with Genoa as revealed two days ago. Genoa want €30m (£26m) fee, Spurs want to spend around €25m (£21.6m). Talks progressing.’

Really promising signs for Tottenham, who will want to get a defender in as soon as possible in January to solve the medical room crisis.

Who is Radu Dragusin?

So just who is Radu Dragusin? Here is a mini fact file on Tottenham’s potential new signing:

Dragusin is from Bucharest, Romania and spent time with clubs in his homeland before heading to Juventus as a teen. He only ever played four times for Juventus at the first-team level.

He went on loan to Genoa last season and was impressed – meaning that they made the deal was made permanent last summer.

He also has 11 Romania caps to his name, which at 21 years old is an impressive feat. He is thought to be a huge talent for the future. Hopefully, for Tottenham fans, that future is at Hotspur Way.
