Tottenham Hotspur have now seen one of their reporter summer targets inform his club he wants to leave.

The season may not be over yet, but the drama is already beginning to build ahead of what could be another busy summer transfer window.

Ange Postecoglou has already seen numerous new faces come through the doors at Hotspur Way since his appointment.

And it seems one of the club’s claimed targets would be open to a Premier League move.

What Teun Koopmeiners has said about his future

According to reports, Spurs are one of the clubs who are showing an interest in Koopmeiners ahead of the summer.

And now, the Dutch midfielder has revealed he has informed his current side, Atalanta, of his wish to leave.

Speaking to De Telegraaf, Koopmeiners said: “I have indicated to Atalanta that I want to make a move next summer. But there must be something very nice to exchange that for Atalanta.”

It has also been claimed that Manchester United’s Erik ten Hag is a big fan of his compatriot.

Koopmeiners has been integral to Atalanta’s side in recent seasons, but he looks set to have his best term yet this time out.

Over his 25 Serie A appearances, the 26-year-old has returned 10 goals and three assists this season.

What Koopmeiners said about a Premier League move

A number of Premier League clubs have now been linked with the Dutchman ahead of the summer.

Competition is seemingly going to be fierce, but Spurs have already beaten some huge clubs in recent months to get their targets.

Radu Dragusin was acquired ahead of Bayern Munich and Napoli and Lucas Bergvall chose Spurs over Barcelona.

It seems Koopmeiners would be very interested in a potential move from Italy to England.

He has even admitted that he would be willing to accept the dismal English weather for some of the Premier League clubs showing interest.

“My girlfriend and I are having a great time in Italy. But I can endure the rain for some clubs in England. I hope there will be great options that I can think about,” he told De Telegraaf.

Spurs have a brilliant track record in recent years when it comes to recruiting players from Serie A.

Cristian Romero, Destiny Udogie and Guglielmo Vicario are just some of the names who have been a success since making the move.

It will be interesting to see whether that could potentially work in Tottenham’s favour if they are to make a move for the Dutchman.

After all, Fabrizio Romano has already claimed he expects Spurs to make a big move for a midfielder this summer.
