Thomas Frank is starting to learn who gets into his best Tottenham side, and we could be about to see him introduce a new player to the fold.
Spurs have enjoyed a very strong start to the campaign in all competitions. A 1-0 win in their only Champions League game so far has been added to with just one Premier League defeat so far.
Their most recent outing saw them fight back from two goals down to pick up a point away from Brighton, with it being a game where Frank’s substitutions made the difference.
Xavi Simons impressed in a central role off the bench, with him sending a message to manager about his best position on the pitch.

Thomas Frank’s recent comments could be really good news for Archie Gray
Another player who came off the bench was Archie Gray, and despite only featuring for a number of minutes created a really good chance for Mohammed Kudus.
The England U21 international has only started one competitive game under the new manager, however this could be about to change.
Frank told Football London that he has loved the 19-year-old’s reaction to not playing, and he could be about to follow in fellow midfielder Lucas Bergvall’s footsteps and become a key player.
He said: “I see him more as a midfielder, as an eight or a centre-back, I think he can play both, and sometimes you need that little run of games like Lucas gets now and you take the next steps.
“He was not in the squad for West Ham and the day after he trained fantastically. Of course I tried to speak to him and encourage him to train fantastically. Yesterday [in training], fantastic, so that is what you do.”

Gray can take confidence from Lucas Bergvall example
Arguably the standout player for Spurs this season has been Bergvall, with him establishing himself as crucial for Frank already.
Bergvall starred in the Champions League against Villarreal, and has already opened his account in the Premier League as he occupies a more offensive position in midfield.
Gray plays in a different role to the Swede, however will be well aware that his fellow youngster had by no means been a regular under Ange Postecoglou.
He has taken his chance when handed to him by Frank though, and the goal for Gray will now be to do the same, potentially as soon as the EFL Cup tie against Doncaster on Wednesday.
