Conor Gallagher will be the obvious beneficiary of Mauricio Pochettino’s return to Tottenham, but Xavi Simons is also likely to love working under the Argentine again.
Tottenham parted ways with Thomas Frank on Tuesday afternoon following their 11th Premier League defeat of the season.

The North London club were beaten at home by Newcastle United and have now dropped into 16th place in the Premier League.
Spurs are now looking to replace the Danish head coach, with Pochettino one of the favourites to land the job.
The Lilywhites already have several players who potentially would love the chance to work under Pochettino, including Simons.
Mauricio Pochettino could be reunited with Xavi Simons at Tottenham
Mauricio Pochettino could now be reunited with Xavi Simons at Tottenham Hotspur, with the pair having previously worked together at Paris Saint-Germain.
The Argentine head coach was the man who handed Simons his senior debut during the 2020/21 season at PSG.
Pochettino brought on the then 17-year-old for a Coupe de France match, where he shared the pitch with the likes of Neymar Jr and Kylian Mbappe.
The young Dutch talent was given just 12 minutes of action, but it was his first taste of senior action following much hype around his potential.
Just after his debut, Pochettino told Sport: “He won’t be Iniesta or Xavi, but he has the quality and balance to be able to develop a career in the first division.
True or false: Tottenham re-appointing Mauricio Pochettino would be a bad idea…
“He’s still very young, but he has very good potential… Simons is training very well, he has character, he doesn’t get nervous, and he has a good understanding of the game.”
Pochettino could now get the chance to work with Simons again, but this time, he will have the midfielder in a more complete form.
Mauricio Pochettino could really help Conor Gallagher at Tottenham
Conor Gallagher will be wondering what on earth he has joined following Frank’s sacking, but like Simons, the news of Pochettino’s return could be perfect for him.
The former Chelsea captain got on very well with Pochettino during their time together at Stamford Bridge, and a reunion in North London may well excite him.
Back in 2023, Pochettino raved about his captain, telling ChelseaFC.com: “From the outside, Conor was a really good player and a really consistent player that can perform in different positions. We are so happy with him.”
