Belgian Pro League club Anderlecht have ended talks with Ryan Mason and the young coach will now remain with Tottenham and Ange Postecoglou.
Anderlecht had been in advanced talks with Mason over taking the head coach role, however, both parties have opted to call off the discussions.
Former Spurs defender Jan Vertonghen had recommended Mason to Anderlecht who were looking for a new manager following the departure of Brian Riemer.
But following talks over the last few days, Mason will not be taking on the role and will now stay part of Postecoglou’s coaching staff.

Why Ryan Mason will be staying at Tottenham
Ryan Mason and Anderlecht have mutually agreed that the timing for him to become their new head coach is not right, according to Football.London.
Meanwhile, Paul O’Keefe adds that the Belgian club had concerns over his inexperience and lack of knowledge of the league.
Talks between the two parties have now closed and he will stay with Postecoglou’s coaching staff where he is enjoying his current role.
Mason has yet to experience a full-time job in senior management having just worked as a coach for the North London club’s youth teams and as assistant to the likes of Postecoglou and Antonio Conte.
He became the youngest-ever Premier League manager as he took over as interim boss following the sacking of Jose Mourinho, but he is still awaiting a full-time position.
The 33-year-old looked close to finally landing his first job as a head coach, however, talks have now ended and he will stay at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
How does Ange Postecoglou’s coaching staff set-up look?
Postecoglou will be pleased to keep Mason having lost one of his assistants Chris Davies to Birmingham City over the summer.
Nick Montgomery was the man who replaced Davies as Postecoglou’s Tottenham assistant and the former Hibernian boss has already been doing great work in N17.
Montgomery was tasked with addressing Tottenham’s weaknesses on set-pieces and since his arrival, Gabriel’s header in the North London derby is the only goal they have conceded from a set-piece.
Meanwhile, Mile Jedinak and Mason are the other two coaches who are continuing to work alongside the Aussie coach and Montgomery.
