Tottenham will get their 2025/26 Champions League campaign underway against Villarreal, where there could be a familiar face involved for the opposition.
Manor Solomon eventually made his move away from the Tottenham Hotspur stadium late in the summer transfer window, joining the La Liga side on loan for a season.
He also spent last season on loan at Leeds, although was on the bench for Spurs’ defeat to Bournemouth before the international break.
With it clear he was out of Thomas Frank’s plans for this season, he will feel as if he has landed on his feet joining a side set to compete in the Champions League.

Can Manor Solomon play against Tottenham in the Champions League?
They start their campaign against Spurs, with the question being could they end up facing each other on matchday one.
As per BBC Sport, any player can feature against his parent club in the Champions League, meaning Solomon is elgible to play against Spurs on Tuesday.
The report goes on to say that there can be no pressure applied from the parent club to stop the player featuring, meaning the Premier League side will have no influence on whether he will play.
The Israel international was an unused substitute during his first game as a Villarreal player in La Liga, however after a number more training sessions under his belt he could now be considered.
Villarreal bailed Tottenham out of late transfer window woes
Despite it being clear that there was no immediate future for Solomon at Spurs, they were struggling to find a new home for him for the upcoming season.
It has been reported that Crystal Palace wanted Solomon on loan, however pulled out of a deal at the final moments due to them keeping hold of Marc Guehi on deadline day.
They were likely delighted to see their Champions League opponents bail them out and take him for the 2025/26 campaign, however will not be feeling quite so confident in that stance if he comes back to haunt them in North London tonight.
