Reports have stated that Tottenham looked set to end the summer transfer window absolutely fuming, before a familiar Spanish outfit bailed them out.

It ended up being a pretty successful transfer window as far as Spurs were concerned, in what has now turned out to be Daniel Levy’s last window as Chairman of the club.

Xavi Simons, Mohammed Kudus and Joao Palhinha are amongst those who have joined the club, with them all playing key roles in the most recent win against West Ham.

The victory sets Spurs up nicely for their return to Champions League action on Tuesday, where they will take on Villarreal and a number of familiar names.

Tottenham were fuming on deadline day before being saved by Villarreal

Juan Foyth is in line to start after featuring every game this season so far, while there could be a start for Manor Solomon, after he moved on loan late in the transfer window.

The move to the La Liga side came a bit out of nowhere, with it originally looking like he would be staying in London and joining Crystal Palace.

However, a deal collapsed, which according to the Mail Online, left Spurs furious after a deal sheet had been signed to give them extra time to complete the move.

The report went on to say that a ‘complex’ deal ended up falling through after it became clear that Marc Guehi would not be leaving Selhurst Park this summer.

Solomon given immediate chance to sting Spurs

Despite being named on the bench for Spurs in their home defeat against Bournemouth, it was still very much in their plans for him to move on over the summer.

It remains to be seen if Villarreal will include him in their squad to travel to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium for their Champions League opener.

Solomon was an unused sub in their La Liga match against Atletico Madrid, with him not long off the back of a calf injury.

The Israel international would surely be relishing the chance to remind his parent club exactly what he is capable of, and why they should have looked to intergrate him into their setup.
