Tottenham Hotspur’s U21s were shootout winners away at Bristol Rovers in the Football League Trophy with several of the club’s youngsters really impressing.
Spurs’ academy stars put the League One opposition to the sword as they defeated them on penalties following a 3-3 draw.
Goals from Will Lankshear and Mikey Moore turned the game on its head before the hosts found an equaliser for 2-2.
Oyindamola Ajayi later restored Tottenham’s lead before another Rovers goal took the game to penalties.
The Lilywhites’ goalkeeper Luca Gunter proved to be the hero as he saved the sixth spot kick to allow Oliver Irow to convert the winning penalty.
But at the Memorial Stadium, there was certainly one standout performer from Wayne Burnett’s side and Spurs supporters have demanded his inclusion in the first-team against Everton.

Mikey Moore shines for Spurs’ academy
Moore managed a goal and two assists in the Football League Trophy match in just his third appearance for the U21s.
The North London club’s prodigy has had an incredible last four months from making his first-team debut at just 16 to signing his first professional contract with Tottenham.
The 17-year-old earned first-team minutes towards the end of last season having impressed Ange Postecoglou in training and his performances for the academy.
The Australian coach then took him away on the club’s pre-season tour of Asia where he continued to shine.
Following Heung-min Son’s tricky start to the season, Spurs supporters have taken to X to express their belief that in Moore, the club have the heir to the South Korean’s throne.
One fan said: “Mikey Moore should be a serious challenger to Sonny on that Spurs left side. We all love him but he has lost a little of that cutting-edge up front there are a lot of matches this season, it would be great to see them share the load. The master and his apprentice.”
Finally, one supporter said: “Mikey Moore could be the answer [need for a winger]? Nobody knows how he’ll fair in the Premier League until we blood him in. But I agree, Sonny and Johnson are sadly not anywhere near productive enough.”
Tottenham supporters must support Heung-min Son despite lacklustre display vs Leicester
Son had a tricky evening at the King Power Stadium with his stats highlighting how he was kept quiet by Leicester’s defence.
The winger failed to register a single attempt on goal and he lost possession on 13 occasions.
In the first half, he looked dangerous at times, but in the second period, his performance significantly dipped.
Despite what was a frustrating evening, Tottenham must stick by their captain who has proven time and time again that he can still produce incredible output.
Based on his performances, last season wasn’t his best, however, he still managed 17 goals and 10 assists in the league and is more than capable of replicating that again this campaign.
